It’s an interesting fact that, though the mice never had a connection with their father they inherited behavioral traits.

“…visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’ “Numbers 14:18

When we are not walking in the blessings, we are walking in the curse of sin (the earth curse system).  When David said that he was shaped in iniquity, the word shaped actually means twisted.  We may be a little quick to try and explain things in a way that we can understand.  However, there are things that people face that are not just chosen behaviors – but that go really deep with the twisting of DNA.

What’s The Hope?

The gospel of Jesus Christ is our hope.  It’s vital that we experience New Birth! Many times people ask, why am I still dealing with this sin, even after I have accepted Christ.  The truth is that we will still fight enemies going into the promise land – this is the theme throughout scripture. Caleb said, if you give me this mountain I will take it for you.

“Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.”  Joshua 14:12

Christ Formed In Us

Prayer and the word are how Christ is formed in us, it actually shapes us! We must bust the notion that going to church on Sunday is what forms Christ in us – it’s the daily walk / the disciplines.

The curse always has an expiration date, but the blessing does not!

We keep our eyes on eternity, even Abraham died without receiving the promise. We want the blessing to be instant, but God does not always work like this. We have to look at this journey as a long game.

Dedication to discipline becomes desire, then it becomes a delight.

After you begin to identify some of the things that have been passed to you from one generation to another, and you know it is your duty to cut it off in your bloodline, you must become dedicated to this.

  1. We can become so sporadic in our discipline that it never gets to the place of delight
  2. Mothers: The influence of the mother has the ability to “dial down” the iniquity in that child. Mothers have a lot of power!
  3. It is vital to pray for your child every day
  4. Sometimes we have to have drastic measures, even become violent in the spirit.
  5. Satan’s agenda is to make us apathetic, hopeless or blind to these issues

Defy mainstream ideas to take on the mind of Christ

The flesh is at war with the Spirit all of the time and it is so easy to walk after the flesh. We don’t have to worry about naming every spirit that we are up against, however, the root is simply iniquity.  Maybe we should instead identify the blessings that are available. The Question is are you willing to stay with the process that makes you sincere.  People often give up in the process because the process is not easy. We want the reward, but the reward comes with the process.

The environments that create continued or repeated iniquities

A lukewarm environment is where iniquities grow. Self-deception is the epidemy of a lukewarm environment. Since we adore our children, it’s pretty easy to become blind to the sin that exists. Not only will I deceive myself, but I try to deceive everyone else. The answer is to create a spiritually hot environment!   Make God’s word paramount in our home. Bring God into everyday circumstances, this plants the seed and this seed grows. At some point, the fire will light up in their heart. Have established values in your home and be intentional about living them out.

“Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 11:19

There are no hopeless situations. My hope and your hope goes as deep as God’s love for us.
